Overview

SPRESENSE™ is an IoT board computer that combines low power consumption with a GPS reception function and a high-resolution audio codec. IoT devices are making our world smarter and more sophisticated, with drones equipped with GPS and high-functionality processors, smart speaker terminals with high-resolution audio codec playback/recording and built-in full digital amps, and fixed-point cameras with low power consumption.

Features

High-precision positioning function

The smart sensing processor CXD5602 powering Spresense is equipped with a multi-GNSS positioning function. It can simultaneously receive signals from multiple systems, including GPS, QZSS, and GLONASS.

High-spec, high-resolution audio function

It is equipped with a 192-kHz/24-bit high-resolution audio codec and a Class-D full digital amp. It also supports microphone input for up to eight channels.

Substantial computing power

The CXD5602 is equipped with six ARM® Cortex®-M4F multi-core processors capable of low power consumption in operation.

Technology

Multi-channel audio pickup with high sound quality

It can obtain 192-kHz/24-bit high-resolution audio and vibration data, beyond the limits of human recognition. It can also simultaneously capture synchronized audio from up to four channels with an analog microphone or eight with a digital microphone. With signal processing and AI processing through high computing capabilities using its multi-core processors, enables sensing beyond what humans can perceive.

High computing capabilities at low power

It has a hexa-core structure comprising six Cortex-M4F processors. By using a cutting-edge silicon process to significantly reduce the drive voltage, it achieves power consumption that is even lower than standard multi-core processors. Its CPU power, clock, and memory are also all designed for operation under optimal low power conditions, achieving low power even on the system side. It also has a camera and voice input/output to utilize images and audio in applications with low power consumption.
