It was confirmed that a partner company employee that undertake contract work at Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation’s Nagasaki Technology Center (1883-43, Tsukubamachi, Isahaya-shi, Nagasaki), was infected with COVID-19.

Having shown symptoms of illness, the employee underwent medical examination and received Antigen test. On January 17, the employee tested positive and is currently receiving medical treatment at designated facilities. We identified the close contacts within the site, and the employee is self-isolating at home for 10 days from the contact date. We will continue follow up observations.

Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing has been taking measures to prevent the spread of the virus, such as promotion of flexible work (working from home). We will continue to carry out our business operations focusing primarily on ensuring the safety of our employees, customers and partners, in addition to preventing the further spread of the virus both inside and outside the company.
