It was confirmed that a total of 7 people working at Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation’s Atsugi Technology Center (4-14-1, Asahi-cho, Atsugi-shi, Kanagawa), including 6 employees and 1 temporary staff were infected with coronavirus (COVID-19).

Since 6 employees and 1 temporary staff showed symptoms of a fever and illness, they had medical examinations at the hospital and a PCR tests from August 2 to 4. On August 5, all 7 people tested positive and have currently received medical treatment at home. We identified the close contacts as defined by our company regulations within the site and had them to stand by at home for 14 days from the contact date. We will continue to follow up observation.

Sony Semiconductor Solutions has been taking measures to prevent further spread such as promotion of flexible work (working from home). We will carry out business operations primarily focused on ensuring the safety of its employees, its customers and partners in addition to preventing the further spread of the virus both inside and outside the company.
