Sony Semiconductor Solutions announced that, on August 9, the company was certified with the ISO/IEC 5230:2020 standard (OpenChain 2.1), the International Standard for open source software (OSS) license compliance.

The OpenChain 2.1 was approved as an international standard in ISO/IEC 5230 in December 2020. It is expected that this will help further diffuse across the world the requirements of the OSS compliance program, defined by the OpenChain Project.
As a global leader of imaging and sensing technology, we pioneered in developing a framework of open source license compliance and conformed to OpenChain 1.2 standard, a predecessor of ISO/IEC 5230:2020, in October 2019 to ensure that our customers could use our products and services with confidence.
With the latest standard accorded for the enhanced framework, we continue to provide our support with a highly transparent supply chain to our clients and their open source license compliance.
