Sony Semiconductor Solutions Employee Infected with the Novel Coronavirus

Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation

An employee of Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation’s Atsugi Technology Center (4-14-1, Asahi-cho, Atsugi-shi, Kanagawa) was confirmed to be infected with coronavirus (COVID-19).

Since the employee who had been working from home since January 8 showed symptoms of a fever on January 12, the employee had a medical examination at the hospital and a PCR test. On January 14, the employee tested positive and has currently received medical treatment at home. We identified the close contacts as defined by our company regulations within the site and had them to stand by at home for 14 days from the contact date. We will continue to follow up observation.

Sony Semiconductor Solutions has been taking measures to prevent further spread such as promotion of flexible work (working from home). We will carry out business operations primarily focused on ensuring the safety of its employees, its customers and partners in addition to preventing the further spread of the virus both inside and outside the company.
